Sip your morning coffee on your choice of two large decks and watch the sun peek over the mountains. Later, as the sun rises and warms the air, enjoy a walk along the beach and gaze into the tide pools for a glimpse of starfish and crabs. Spend the afternoon exploring the quaint little towns of Langley and Coupeville, and perhaps find a treasure to take home with you. Return home in the evening and enjoy a relaxing fire outside in the antique fire pit before retiring to slumber in one of the soft-down filled beds upstairs.

The Beach The beach is a delight for everyone from children to avid beachcombers. At low tide, the beach extends out 600' to the edge of the Saratoga passage. The rock and sand beach is filled with mussels, clams, and crabs and the tide pools are home to brilliant orange starfish and crabs. Gray whales migrating through the passage throughout the year are often spotted grazing on the sand shrimp at high tide in front of Starfish beach house. Use the telescope in the living room to take a closer look at the whales as they travel through the passage.

Sit on a piece of history…. The barstools in the dining area are from the last Washington State Ferryboat that crossed Lake Washington between Kirkland and Seattle transporting many locals and visitors to the region. Upstairs, the antique claw foot tub traveled on a boat around Cape Horn in 1900 and spent many years in a home in San Francisco before moving to this Whidbey Island beach house. Additionally, light fixtures from old Seattle hotels and trains are used throughout the house and are accompanied by various bathroom cabinets and accessories. An antique stained glass window of yellow and blue from a local church provides a touch of light in the living room.
